About
Cantro started because we had a need. We own a Melting Pot location in Virginia Beach, and we wanted branded retail merchandise that was high quality and affordable. We could not find a product we were happy with, so we decided to make it ourselves.
For 15 years we supplied custom brushed-aluminum picture frames to restaurants and shops, manufactured overseas. The product was good. The supply chain was not where we wanted it long-term. In 2026 we transitioned to a simpler design, made in America, using reclaimed wood. Same quality bar. Better story.
We work with reclaimed wood because it lets us hit the quality we want at a price that works for resale. Every frame is a real piece of wood with its own grain and color. The mix in every box is part of the product, not a defect.
While remodeling a restaurant, we found a source for custom woodwork pieces and bar stools that hit our quality bar and our price. So we added them. Cantro now designs and manufactures retail merchandise, custom furniture, and wall-finish solutions for restaurants and shops. We add a product to the catalog when we find one that is made in America, made well, and priced so a reseller can make a real margin.
Cantro is owned and run by Andrew Holder out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The website and digital side are built by his son, Carson Holder, who manages the family's Melting Pot location.
What Cantro is not.
Cantro is not a promotional company that screen-prints bulk cheap merchandise. We do not relabel an off-the-shelf product and resell it as ours. If we put our name on it, we designed it and we had it made to our spec.
